Costume Designer Marie Schley and Costume Supervisor Mark Anthony Summers are responsible for dressing the 70-year-old Maura as she starts her new life and slowly builds her confidence in the clothes she wears, which has earned them a 2016 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Costume Design (and Marie Schley an Emmy last year for the show's freshman season).

These costumes worn by Maura, her divorced wife 'Shelly' (played by Judith Light), youngest daughter 'Ali' (Gabby Hoffmann), music industry son 'Josh' (Jay Duplass) and eldest daughter 'Sarah' (Amy Landecker) were photographed on display as part of FIDM Museum's 10th Art of Television Costume Design on August 9, 2016.
